As Mercy came closer to the yellowed pages, a rip seemed to appear in the center. Through the gap you could see a fiercely bright light, which began to grow steadily larger until it enveloped her entire being. The last flash of light revealed a small, dark parlour with an equally dark fireplace on the far side. Standing in front of it was a young, pleasant-looking man of about seventeen. His lips pulled into a smile.
"Hello Mercy."

She was taken back by this, she was kind of startled as she seemed to be sucked into the book. Running her hand in her hair she put her hand down, her hand coming to her lap as she walked over to him gracefully. Her gray eyes looked around the room, her black hair lay still against her back even as she moves. Her heart was beating pretty quickly, taking a deep breath she looked into his eyes, seeing his smile she couldn't help but smile back to him.
"Hello Tom" She said kindly

He smiled, seeing her expression. It wasn't every day that you were pulled into a strange diary. And she looked quite surprised at the turn of events. But that was to be expected - she would get used to it. He intended to become a frequent visitor - or have her become one at least. The trick was to get her to trust him, to agree with him whatever he may say.
"I trust your journey went well?" he asked, a glint of humor in his eyes. Jokes always put people at ease.

She was taken back, seeing the humor in his eyes she had a feeling this wasn't going to be a one time only deal. "I have heard of people who refer to me as muggles. I know more about the wizard world then people give me credit for." She looked around seeing a strange face behind them, like a face on a mountain, but she heard the sound of a snake and looked at him.
"Interesting Trip" she crossed her arms "I take it you have a pet snake that keeps you company?"

"Indeed she does," he confirmed. "Her name is Nagini."
She knew about the wizarding world. Good, that would make things easier; he wouldn't have to explain it all. That could have been tedious. And he was pleased to see she so readily accepted it all. No awkwardness or apprehension marred her tone or facial expression now.
"Nagini, say hello to our gracious guest," he said with a smile.
The snake slithered up close to Mercy and hissed.
Hello, Child.

She saw how big she was she swallowed hard knowing she could be swallowed up in one galp she looked her right in the eyes, she had heard of a snake that could freeze you by looking into its eyes but this snake didn't do that. She relaxed when she heard Nagini speak to her but what came out of her mouth was strange.
"Hello Great Nagini..."
She heard herself speak snake, she knew it was snake because it certainly wasn't english sounding her fear left her body as she smiled softly, reaching up to her running her hand on her nose.

Voldemort smiled with great satisfaction. Nagini had apparently approved of Mercy. And, even better, Mercy was a Parselmouth. She would make a fine Death Eater - once she was trained, of course. And before she could be trained, she needed to know of her power. But not quite yet. He had to be sure of her loyalty first. It wouldn't be wise to train a potential Order member.
Nagini rubbed lightly against Mercy's touch and hissed with contentment.
"I see you have a way with snakes," he stated with a smile. "It can be a useful talent."

She smiled and nodded kindly "It helps to know your special, I guess im more special then even I knew." She couldn't help but wonder what this all would mean, she looked at Tom and smiled some right at him. "Looks like you know more then I do, except I do know one thing about you, about a man that is the greatest and most powerful wizard, why have you taken me here Tom or should I call you Lord Voldermort?" She said respectfully.

He smiled, pleased at the new turn of events. She knew who he truly was and still stood before him, unafraid and respectful. This was good news indeed.
"Tom will be fine. After all, I intend for us to be very good friends," he replied with a charming smile. "But let me ask you a question. What is it you want most in the world?"
This was the question that mattered. It woul decide whether or not she was really going to be able to serve him - or next to him.

She looked at him thinking for a moment "Being special would be nice, I have no family that I know of, I don't have any friends, well I take that back, you...this world has hurt me more then anything, I wouldn't mind showing them my own wrath since im tired of doing stuff for others and never getting anything back"

He smiled, satisfied with her response. he could definitely help her reach her goals - and she would help him reach his. It was a nice little arrangement.
"To do what you desire, you'll need power - a lot more power than you currently have. And the knowledge of how to use it," he stated. "Would you be willing to dedicate yourself to me entirely? So that I may teach you?"

She was taken back by his offer, she gave a smile as she thought, closing her eyes for just a moment listing to everything around her. When it came down to it her eyes opened up and looked right at Tom. "Alright, I dedicate myself to you and no one else, I know if I betray you the sentance is death but I do not see myself doing such a stupid thing"

Again, the perfect response. This was a beautifully intelligent girl. Thank Merlin.
"Very good," he replied, nodding his head very slightly. "But before we can begin, I need you to do something for me."

She crossed her arms giving him a grin "And what would that be Tom?" She said simply she wasn't afraid knowing what she knew, but she had to say that she was one for adventure.

"It's simple matter really, but one of great importance. It will require some ingenuity on your part," he answered with a slight smile. "I need you to give this diary to one of your friends. But only for a short while. Trust me, I will return to you soon enough. But it must be to one fo your friends that is very emotional at the moment. Do you know anyone that fits that description?"
